what they are

## What are exosomes?
Exosomes are tiny vesicles released by cells that carry proteins, lipids, and genetic material from one cell to another. They are studied as the messaging layer of the body’s repair system.
Where a cellular therapy delivers cells, an exosome therapy delivers signals, the instructions cells use to communicate about repair, inflammation, and immune activity. That is why exosomes are often discussed alongside stem cell therapy rather than in place of it.
At Hygeia, we take a personalized, research-informed approach to regenerative medicine, helping you explore how advanced cellular therapies may support your recovery, resilience, healthy aging, and longevity goals.
Whether exosomes, stem cells, or neither belongs in your plan is a decision we make together, after a consult, not a decision made from a price list.

Consult required
Exosome therapy is offered only after a Deep Dive consultation, so that product selection, dosing, and supportive therapies are matched to your history and goals.

before you decide

## Questions to ask before choosing regenerative therapy
Ask these of any clinic, including this one. Here are our answers.

01 Who will perform my treatment and what are their credentials?
At Hygeia Wellness, your IV and regenerative treatments are personally performed by Holly Deffert, RN, a registered nurse with more than 14 years of nursing experience, including extensive emergency-room and IV therapy experience.
Holly specializes in medical ozone therapy, O3UV, advanced IV therapies, Poly-MVA, NAD+, nutritional IV therapy, and regenerative cellular therapies.
Hygeia also operates with medical oversight. When a treatment requires medical evaluation, clearance, prescribing, or provider orders, an appropriately licensed medical provider is involved.

02 How many patients with my condition have you treated?
Hygeia does not treat clients based solely on a diagnosis or place every person with the same condition into the same protocol.
Your health history, symptoms, previous treatments, current medications, lifestyle, goals, functional assessment findings, and available laboratory data are reviewed individually.
Holly will be transparent about her experience with clients who have similar health concerns and will refer or collaborate with another provider when something falls outside her scope or expertise.

03 What outcomes are realistic for me specifically?
There is no responsible way to guarantee a specific outcome from regenerative therapy.
The goal is to identify what you are hoping to improve, such as energy, recovery, mobility, joint function, cognition, resilience, or overall quality of life, and determine whether regenerative therapy may reasonably support that goal.
Expectations are discussed before treatment, including what the therapy may support, what it cannot promise, and how progress will be evaluated. Individual responses vary.

04 How is the product sourced and handled?
Hygeia uses regenerative products obtained through established professional suppliers and follows the manufacturer’s required procedures for storage, handling, preparation, and administration.
Product information, including the specific product being used, is reviewed as part of the treatment process.
Hygeia takes sourcing, handling, sterility, and appropriate clinical administration seriously and encourages clients to ask questions about any regenerative product before receiving treatment.

05 What is included in the quoted price?
Pricing is reviewed before treatment so you understand what is included.
Depending on the treatment or program, pricing may include the regenerative product, IV administration, nursing care, supportive IV fluids or adjunct therapies, treatment-day monitoring, aftercare instructions, and scheduled follow-up.
If additional therapies, laboratory testing, consultations, or follow-up services are recommended, those costs are discussed separately unless they are specifically included in your program or membership tier.

06 What does follow-up look like?
Regenerative care is not viewed as a single treatment followed by “see you later.”
Hygeia uses structured follow-up to evaluate how you are responding over the following weeks and months. Depending on your goals, this may include tracking symptoms, energy, sleep, mobility, pain, physical function, quality of life, laboratory markers, functional assessments, or biological-age testing.
Your plan may evolve based on what your body is actually doing, not simply according to a predetermined schedule.

07 What are the risks and contraindications?
Every therapy has potential risks, limitations, precautions, and situations in which it may not be appropriate.
Your medical history, medications, allergies, previous reactions, current health status, and relevant risk factors are reviewed before treatment.
When additional medical evaluation or clearance is necessary, Hygeia involves or refers to an appropriately licensed provider. Potential risks and aftercare considerations are discussed before treatment so that you can make an informed decision.

08 Would you tell me if I were not a candidate?
Absolutely.
Being offered the most expensive or most advanced therapy is not automatically the best answer. Sometimes the appropriate next step is improving foundational health, completing additional testing, addressing another issue first, obtaining medical clearance, or working with a different specialist.
Hygeia’s goal is to recommend therapies intentionally, not simply because they are available.

09 How do you measure results?
Before treatment, we identify what you are actually trying to change. Depending on your goals, progress may be evaluated through:

- Symptoms and quality-of-life changes
- Energy and recovery
- Sleep
- Mobility and physical function
- Pain or joint function
- Cognitive or neurological symptoms
- Laboratory markers
- Functional assessments
- Body composition or metabolic markers
- Biological-age testing when appropriate
The purpose is to create a baseline whenever possible and then reassess rather than relying only on subjective impressions.

10 Can I speak with a physician before booking?
Hygeia Wellness is led by Holly Deffert, RN, not a physician. Your initial consultation and health-optimization process are conducted with Holly within her professional scope as a registered nurse.
Hygeia operates with medical oversight, and when your treatment requires medical evaluation, diagnosis, prescribing, medical clearance, or provider orders, an appropriately licensed medical provider is involved.
If your situation requires evaluation by a physician or another specialist, Holly will recommend referral rather than attempting to manage something outside her scope.

Hygeia’s philosophy
Regenerative therapy should not begin with the assumption that everyone needs stem cells. We begin by understanding the whole picture.
Assess. Build the foundation. Treat intentionally. Measure. Reassess.
Depending on the individual, that may involve lifestyle and nutritional changes, targeted laboratory testing, detoxification support, ozone therapy, IV nutrition, NAD+, Poly-MVA, regenerative cellular therapies, or collaboration with other healthcare providers. Advanced therapies are layered in when they have a clear purpose within the larger health-optimization plan.

This information is provided for educational purposes and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Hygeia Wellness does not guarantee outcomes from regenerative or other therapies. Individual responses vary. Medical diagnosis, prescribing, and medical decision-making are performed by appropriately licensed providers when required.
